Who knows

We had another baby appointment yesterday and this was the first time that Franklin Maverick has shown any sign of getting ready to leave his current home. It was actually, according to the doctor, a pretty big change from last week. So who knows, maybe this kid will decide he doesn't actually need to be 10 lbs when he arrives.

This is a picture of him from a sono two or so weeks ago. Just forgot to put it up till now.

on the move

Just hit 37 weeks.  Had an appointment yesterday and he seems to still be pretty comfortable where he is and not feeling like gracing the world just yet.  He is, however, an active little guy.  The Dr also said he felt really long to her... so maybe he is a heavy one because he is a tall one.  One can hope anyways.

Finally caught him moving around on video.  Crazy.

36 weeks

So Sara is right at about 36 weeks now.  The end is coming.  Fast for me, not fast enough for her (probably).  We just had an appointment today at which they did an ultrasound.  Apparently the kid is huge.  We knew that by the 'are you having twins' question from strangers, but he is currently about 7.25 lbs and the doctor was joking about how he will not be able to hold up his head it is so big, ha.  Also he has tons of hair.  That gift to him did not come from my side.  Anyways, some pictures.

I was joking the other night about how pregnancy is probably more convenient than it is not convenient.  Here is proof:

Dang, she pregnant

On a walk earlier today, Sara was telling me about how people do weird stuff around pregnant women.  They ask how far along you are, they ask if you are having twins and they refuse to let you take out your own groceries.

Just a bit ago the mail man dropped off some boxes of stuff we bought online.  The window was open, and as he walked away I heard him say, "dang, she pregnant" and came back, picked up the boxes and rang the door bell again.  It was really nice of him since earlier in the day he only saw Sara and not me (dropped off the mail before the boxes).  Guess he just didn't want to make the pregnant lady bend over to pick up the boxes.

engagement surprise

This past weekend we went back and took some pictures of us and Franklin Maverick Felix Fantastico at the same place that I proposed to Sara in Colorado Springs.  More to come, but thought I would share this one... kind of fun.  Same spot and same pose as that day back in 2005.

It's not nesting

Sara began some sewing for Franklin Maverick tonight and was pumped about it. I asked if this was the start of nesting, to which she said no. She was just enjoying making something for Franklin Felix Maverick (insert other names he has/had(but won't have))...

26 weeks and camping!

We went camping this past weekend because we thought it may be one of the last time that we can do that for a bit.  Apparently this week (many people's spring break) is a popular weekend and we were slow on the draw, leaving us with a campsite at Cooper's Lake State Park.  Turned out to be an alright little park, although there wasn't a ton to do.

We did, however, get to use the good 'ol dutch oven again, which is always fun.  We made pork chops with onions, mushrooms and cream sauce over egg noodles (think basically beef stroganoff).

We also were able to try out the new fishing pole I got for Christmas.  It is a fun pole because it collapses real nice, making it easier to take places.  The fishing was actually pretty terrible and I lost a lure, too.

Fun tip: How can you tell which person fishing is from Colorado and which is from Texas?  Who is wearing North Face and who is wearing camo.  I was literally the only one (and Sara) not wearing camo.

We figured the 26 week picture should be in front of the tent.  Our camping neighbors were impressed with our camping ability (because it stormed pretty good and they were in campers), but they were even more impressed when they saw Sara was pregnant (not making that up either... they told us).

21 weeks!

We had another baby appointment today and it was the day that they do the anatomy check and find out if 'Franklin' is actually a boy or a girl.  The anatomy all looked really great, which was reassuring to the MD in this family unit.  The guy doing it was super good at doing ultra-sounds so it went surprisingly quick, too.  Although, since we are going to a solo practice OB, she had us go to another practice that is technically a high risk one, but they do ultrasounds all the time and must be her preferred sounders.

Anyways, more to the point, below is a nice little profile picture of the little guy.  'Franklin' actually is a Franklin (as in gender... probably not name).

19.5-ish

Today we took a nice little stroll around White Rock lake in like upper 60 degree weather and thought we should take another picture of 'Franklin'.  It is funny going down to Waco each week because I can literally see the baby get bigger each time I get back.

Things are still going well.  About the only thing Sara craves is hamburgers, which is awesome.

18-ish

We have been meaning to take another picture of Sara for a while.  We did the other night when she was all tuckered out from work and what not.  I was super tempted to post the photo, but she was not happy, not smiling and I think the ramifications of sharing it would be painful.  So I withheld.  But here is one that is good!

She came home yesterday and said strangers were asking her when she is due.  She is still probably on the cusp of when that would be a gamble and when it may not be... but really, is it ever ok to ask a stranger that?  So we take this and Sara looks at it and goes, 'am I really that big?!'

14-ish

Sara is just starting to show a bit more now, so we thought we had better start to take some pics before it is too late to compare them!  This was taken around the 14 week mark.

In other news, it is snowing today!  Little while Christmas surprise.
